  • checking numbering and completeness of references, footnotes, and bibliographies;
  • adding credit lines as stipulated;
  • ensuring agreement of table of contents with headings;
  • marking callouts for tables, figures, footnotes, and cross-references;
  • ensuring that headings within chapters are parallel in construction, number, and frequency;
  • keeping a style sheet (for the client); and
  • formatting footnotes or endnotes, references or bibliography entries.
